In China, they are designing a new mall that will be the largest in the world. It will be 3 times larger than the Great America Mall in Minnesota. The new
mall will cover 6 million square feet. "That mall, which is expected to cost $1.3 billion when completed, spans the length of six football fields and easily exceeds the floor space of the Pentagon, which at 3.7 million square feet is the world's largest office building. It is a single, colossal five-story building - with rows and rows of shops stacked on top of more rows and rows of shops - so large that it is hard to navigate among the 1,000 stores and the thousands of shoppers." In fact, the Chinese already have 4 malls larger than the Great America Mall. My wife has let me know that there is a trip to China in our future. :-) More details can be found here.
Five star luxury powder room? They are designing a deluxe women's room in London. It will cost 5 pounds to enter! Hmm, maybe my wife and I will have to take a stop in London on our way to the Chinese malls! More details can be found here.

In Mossow, Russia they have a big problem with depression during the long drab winters. So they decided to brighten things up by painting some of the apartment buildings. More of the colorful pictures can be found here.
George Lucus' firm Industrial Light & Magic has created a website that shows some of the special effects that they created for the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie. One feature of the website has a "Real or ILM" quiz. They show a picture and ask you to guess whether it is real or a computer generated special affect. Anyway, it is a fun site to explore.
Electrolux has invented Vacuum Shoes! As you shuffle around the house in these shoes, they vacuum the floor! More details can be found here.
