Is this Paperclip worth a house?

Kyle MacDonald from Montreal wants to barter a red paperclip up to a house. He started trading last July 12. He put an ad on Craigslist asking for trade offers for his paperclip.
He began by trading his paperclip for a cool fish pen. A woman from Vancouver had found the pen while camping. She was very fond of the pen, but felt that she needed to have the paperclip. As of this March, she still had the paperclip.
Then he traded his fish pen for a handmade door knob. A ceramic sculptor from Seattle designed and created the door knob. Then she traded the knob for the fish pen.
Shawn Sparks in Amherst Massachusetts needed a knob for his espresso maker. So he traded his Coleman camping stove for the door knob. And so on, until recently Kyle had traded up to a professional recording contract which includes:1. 30 hours recording time
2. 50 hours mixing/post
3. Transportation to/from Toronto from anywhere in the world
4. Accomodations in Toronto.5. You album will be pitched to executives at Sony-BMG and XM radio
6. You'll get on-going publicity from one red paperclip. I will post a link to your band's website and web store. This site has received over one million unique visitors since July of last year. one red paperclip is getting scads of media attention and that will only increase as I get closer to the house. I'm also writing a book about the experience, so you'll get a mention there as well.
7. You get to keep the one recording contract myspace page.
Earlier this week, Kyle traded the recording contract for one year of free rent in an apartment in Phoenix. It includes:
-One year free rent in the heart of downtown Phoenix. (If needed, the apartment can also come fully furnished.)-roundtrip airfare for two from any major airport in North America.
