UCSC/Hwy 1 Ride

This morning, I took a ride up to the top of UCSC and then back down to Highway 1. I rode up Highway 1 towards Davenport. Then I turned around and returned home. I added the loop up through UCSC in the spirit of adding hills to my ride. From my house it is about a 750 foot climb to the top of UCSC over about 4 miles. Not a huge climb, but a nice workout for me. Especially since it is the start of a 25 mile ride. I had orginally planned to ride all the way into Davenport before turning around. However I ran out of time. I wanted to get home in time to get some rest and lunch before being sent to jail this afternoon. A map of my ride can be found here.

I have to say that I hate climbing hills. I realize that it is really good for me and makes me a much better rider, but it sure is painful.
